Parking in Beaune, France

What I liked most about traffic in Beaune, France, well, second best because the Renaults were the first, was the possibility!
Alongside the cobble-stoned sidewalks and roadways, divided by a thin line of concrete, sat what I can describe only as "tubes". At first glance, the tubes appeared to be solid as steel. Yet, to my amazement, one morning, I observed a mature Frenchman exit his Renault, pull up the tube with ease and carefully place it on the cobble-stoned sidewalk, park his Renault and enter his shop! No money was involved and when he departed his shop later that day, he simply replaced the tube and drove off.
Parked began as a painting of a bicycle near a car, however, as soon as I placed the wheels of the Renault near the sidewalk, I knew I had to paint the tubes to show the possibility of walking, riding, driving, parking and enjoying the art of observation.
