In Celebration of Christopher Hastings
It seems only fitting that my painting Hot and Hot Fish Club, recently accepted in the Energen Art Competition, celebrates the storefront of the restaurant of Christopher Hastings. Chef Hastings' Iron Chef appearance on The Food Network airs this Sunday, February 26!
The historic building which houses Hot and Hot was a delight to paint and my hope is that it conveys a sense of the place. Although tempted to move, Chef Hastings recently determined to remain in the present location, to the delight of his patrons.
A word about the 13th Annual Energen Art Competition. The Competition celebrates Alabama artists and the Wonders of Alabama Art! Paintings will be on exhibit March 12-24 at the Energen Plaza, 605 Richard Arrington, Jr. Boulevard North in Birmingham with a reception to meet artists from 2-4 p.m. on March 25.
ArtPlay is the chosen charity with a portion of the proceeds from sales of the art benefiting its programs. Go to www.artplayasc.org to get an idea of the magical arts education going on at ArtPlay.
